FAQ for the public beta testing WordStat v6 How long will I be able to run the beta version? The beta version of WordStat is a trial version that will run for at least 60 days.
If you are not a registered user of QDA Miner, this base module will also run as a trial software for a minimum of 60 days. I am a registered user of WordStat 5.x, can I run both versions? Yes! Both programs can coexist together in the same folder. The installation program will install the latest version of QDA Miner 3.2 along with WordStat 6. If you already own QDA Miner 3.x, your version will be updated to version 3.2.3 (and be registered automatically). WordStat 6 will also be installed. If WordStat 5.1 is already installed, you will have two buttons to call WordStat: the OK button will run version 5.1 while the Run v6 button will run the beta version 6. Projects and dictionary files are totally compatible between the two versions so there is no risk of switching from one version to the other. If you choose to run WordStat from SimStat, make sure you get the latest version of Simstat (see link below). If only one version of WordStat is installed, SimStat will run it. If two versions are installed, SimStat will offer you a submenu to choose which version to run. Where can I get the beta version? We encourage you to post your comments, feedbacks and bug reports about the beta version of WordStat 6.0 on the WordStat beta testing forum. You may also email your comments to us using either the form below or by sending an email directly to technical support. You will find a Help menu in the upper-right corner of the main screen. You will find under this menu a direct access to the forum as well as an easy way to contact us by email. We suggest you explore and test each new feature of the software. The list of new features is available from this web page. If you use them and test them extensively, please mention it to us even if no problem has been encountered. If you have some ideas how those new features or existing ones could be further improved, let us know (we may still have a chance to implement some of those suggestions) You should also test old features since they may have been subject to some internal changes or may interact with the newly introduced features.
If you are a new user, you can order the current version of WordStat 5.1 along with QDA Miner and/or SimStat. You will automatically receive a license file and an activation number to register WordStat 6. Those who have access to a site license or have obtained a time limited license (lease) can upgrade to WordStat 6 at all time for free. If you are already a registered user of WordStat 5.1, you will find ordering links for the upgrade to version 6 for commercial, governmental and academic clients. Please note that all registered users of WordStat 5.1 who purchased the software after October 1st 2009 will receive a free upgrade to WordStat 6.
